Description
LANGUAGE: common part in English; submissions and reviews in en Catalan | Spanish | English. DESCRIPTION:
This course explores the qualities and design potential of inflatable architecture, considering air as an accessible and readily available construction material with its own tectonic properties.
It examines the principles and techniques used to contain and shape air, as well as the construction strategies related to its application in architectural projects.
Throughout the course, special focus is given to the relationship between the content (air) and the container (membrane or structure), approached from both conceptual and technical perspectives.
The teaching methodology combines theoretical lectures with practical design sessions and hands-on workshop activities. The course culminates in the collective design, fabrication, and assembly of a full-scale inflatable structure.
