The Master's Final Project is the synthesis of the entire degree. It consists of a study, design and implementation of a project in the field of ICT and its management. This project is guided by a lecturer who tutors and guides the entire development. Under his supervision, the student writes a report with the theoretical and practical or research content of his project.

Previous Knowledge

In order to enroll in the Master's Final Project, it is necessary to have taken or enrolled at the same time in all the subjects that make up the degree (taking into account any enrollment restrictions that may exist).
The Master's Final Project requires prior knowledge of all the subjects of the master's degree, the most important being those in which the Project will make an in-depth study.

Objectives

The learning outcomes of the Master's Final Project are as follows:

1. Being able to undertake a project in the field of telecommunications on an individual basis.
2. Knowing how to analyse a specific problem in the field of telecommunications and knowing how to propose solutions.
3. Reinforcing the knowledge acquired throughout the subjects studied in the Master's Degree.
4. Knowing and applying a methodology in its development.
5. Applying techniques and knowledge acquired in the rest of the subjects.
6. Acquiring skills for the presentation and public defence of the TFM.

Contents

The content of the subject will depend on the area of ​​study chosen for the Master's Final Project.

Methodology

The training activities that the student must follow to complete the Master's Final Project can be divided into the following categories:

1. Work seminars with his/her supervisor
2. Study and personal work
3. Communication activities
4. Evaluation activities

Evaluation

In the Master's final project, the evaluation is carried out by a committee that will base its grade on the submitted report, the defence carried out and, where appropriate, the practical demonstration. The defence of the Master's Final Project is a public event.

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation criteria take into account aspects such as:

- Organization and structure of the report both in form and content (Extract, Summary, Index, Body, Results, Conclusions and Future Lines, Bibliography).
- Quality and correctness of the writing.
- Relevance of the proposed work and its justification.
- Presentation of the TFM. Adjustment to the presentation time, which is 30 minutes.
- Ability to summarize.
- Theoretical presentation. Theoretical knowledge of the TFM topic: formalities and development.
- Clarity of the presentation.
- Clarity in the oral presentation.
- Appropriate answers to the questions of the court.
- Practical presentation.
- Showing the environment in which it has been developed.
- Quality of the demonstration of the results.

More specifically, the evaluation criteria are based on four pillars:

- The evaluation of the presenting professor: will weigh on the autonomy and problem-solving capacity, and the planning and fulfillment of objectives.

- The assessment of the content of the work carried out by the tribunal: it will evaluate the content of the work, its novelty and the results obtained.

- The report on the work: it will allow the evaluation of the capacity for written communication and for searching for information.

- The oral presentation: it will allow the evaluation of the capacity for oral communication.
