Joan Claudi Socoró Carrié
Dr. Joan Claudi Socoró received the B.Sc degree in telecommunications engineering, M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering in Enginyeria La Salle (ELS) of Universitat Ramon Llull, in 1993, 1995 and 2002, respectively. He received the 1999/2000 Rosina Ribalta research consolation prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Information Technologies and Communications by the Epson Foundation. From 1996 to 1999, he was a researcher granted by the Catalan Government. Currently he is a research member in signal, audio and speech processing topics of the Media Technologies Research group (2014SGR590) in ELS, supported by the Catalan Government. He teaches signal processing, audio processing and musical production subjects. He has authored or co-authored over 100 papers in scientific journals and conferences. Dr. Socoró has participated as a researcher in 30 R&D projects, including 4 European projects, in the fields of machine-hearing for acoustic mapping, human-machine interaction, and HF-based digital communications. He has supervised 7 PhDs in the fields of speech processing, data clustering and digital communications.
