Xavier Sevillano received the B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Telecommunications and in Electronics Engineering from La Salle - Universitat Ramon Llull in 1997 and 2000, respectively. He completed a Master in Project Management at La Salle in 2002. He received the Ph.D. degree by Universitat Ramon Llull in 2009. From 2000 to 2008, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communications and Signal Theory at La Salle, and since 2008, he is a Senior Researcher at the Media Technologies Research Group. He currently holds an Associate Professor position at La Salle - Universitat Ramon Llull. In 2012, he was positively assessed as a Tenure-track lecturer by AQU Catalunya. In 2011, he was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Multimedia and Vision Research Group at Queen Mary-University of London. He has authored or co-authored over 40 publications in international journals and conferences. He has participated in several R&D projects and his scientific work focuses on computer vision, image processing, and multimedia data analysis, indexing and mining.
