To enroll in the Final Degree Project it is necessary to have taken or enrolled at the same time in all the subjects that make up the degree (taking into account any enrollment restrictions that may exist).
The Final Degree Project requires prior knowledge of all the subjects of the degree, the most important being those in which the Project will make an in-depth study.
The goals of the Final Degree Project are the following:
- The student will be able to communicate the work to a specialized or non-specialized audience in the field of artificial intelligence and data science, both in writing and publicly orally with inclusive language.
- The student will be able to solve a complex problem in the field of artificial intelligence and data science in an original or novel way based on the analysis of a specific topic in the area of study of the degree and the integration of the different knowledge learned from the different subjects that comprise it, taking into account the gender perspective.
- The student will be able to plan the project development in sectors related to artificial intelligence and data science that includes the search, organization and management of associated information.
The content of the subject will depend on the area of study chosen to do the Final Degree Project.
The activities that the student must follow to complete the Final Degree Project can be divided into the following categories:
- Mentoring by the lecturer who will guide and advise the student during the various stages of the work.
- The study and personal work that the student will have to do based on the existing literature on the subject and the tools that help them implement it.
- The use of specific online or face-to-face courses that complete the student's training and help them in the execution and dissemination of the work.
In the Final Degree Project, the evaluation is carried out by a tribunal that will base its qualification based on the content of the work carried out, the report delivered, the defense carried out and, where appropriate, the practical demonstration, as well as the assessment of the teaching staff tutor. The presentation of the Final Degree Project is a public act.
The evaluation criteria take into account aspects such as: the mastery of knowledge, the methodology used, the clarity of the presentation, the capacity for synthesis and oral presentation, the answers to the court's questions, in the case of practical demonstration, the proper functioning of the developed project, an economic study, a user manual, in the case of work in the field of research, the study of the current state, the novelty of the topic, or the innovative contribution, among others.
More specifically, the evaluation criteria are based on four pillars:
- The evaluation of the lecturer professor: will weigh the autonomy and problem-solving capacity, and the planning and fulfillment of objectives.
- The court's assessment of the content of the work carried out: it will evaluate the content of the work, its novelty and results obtained.
- Working memory: will allow the evaluation of the ability to communicate in writing and information retrieval.
- The oral presentation: will allow the evaluation of oral communication skills.
The Final Degree Project panel will be made up of faculty from the faculty related to the field of artificial intelligence and data science and the scope of application of the topic of the work. You will also be able to count on active professionals from the field of artificial intelligence and data science and the scope of application of the work topic.
