This course focuses on integrating key human, social, economic, governance, and environmental considerations into the planning and execution of large-scale sustainable sports events. Students will explore the five pillars of sustainability and the sustainability lifecycle, sustainable approaches to infrastructure and resource management, and strategies for implementing action plans for major events. The program also examines the long-term impact and legacy of sustainable sports events on communities and the environment. By the end of the course, students will be able to design comprehensive sustainability strategies that create positive social and environmental outcomes.
