Lighting I

Description
This subject teaches digital methods which allow the student to express themselves through lighting, while discovering the key factors for a good illumination and giving a solid understanding of its importance as part of a 3D production. The student will be familiarized with the different type of lights, their functions, their correct use depending the circumstances of a scene and how to create functional reusable lighting sets. Throughout the course, managing base lights will be taught, as well as secondary lights, its components and how to configure a 3D scene correctly for lighting outdoor scenes, interior scenes, or characters.

Methodology

The course consists of 13 sessions of 3 hours each. During which, various active teaching methodologies are put into
practice, as well as project-based learning.
At the beginning of each session, the doubts that have arisen in the practice of the previous class are resolved, a new
syllabus is taught through master classes and demonstrative methods and it is concluded by practicing the new
knowledge acquired.
Throughout the course, 4 full assignments are carried out, which provide students a strong knowledge of the subject.

Evaluation

The percentage of the evaluation will be distributed as follows:

20% Theoretical bases
20% Portrait lighting
20% Exterior lighting
20% Interior lighting
20% Interior lighting with one character.

Deliveries must meet the requirements and deadlines.

10% general is intended for attendance and participation in class.
