The course offers technical and applied training on architectural envelope systems, understood as key components for the environmental, energy, and structural performance of buildings. It examines construction systems, innovative materials, and sustainability criteria that affect façades and roofs as interfaces between the building and its environment. The approach is comprehensive, including construction analysis as well as thermal, lighting, acoustic, structural, and durability analysis, along with strategies for maintenance and adaptability.
The course prepares students for professional practice in consultancy, project drafting, and the design of envelope solutions, both for new construction and renovation, with particular attention to energy efficiency, environmental impact, and habitat quality. A critical and sustainable view of technology applied to architecture is promoted, using evaluation and optimization tools based on real cases and current regulations.
