The Master's Degree in Philosophy and Contemporary Debates on the Arts and Technology at La Salle-URL invites you to explore philosophy from a current, critical, and interdisciplinary perspective, in constant dialogue with the major challenges and issues shaping our time.
Grounded in a strong humanistic and philosophical tradition, this program prepares you to face the main ethical, social, scientific, and technological challenges of the 21st century. You will delve into key concepts such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, bioethics, and nihilism, while reflecting on the role of the arts, literature, and contemporary culture as spaces for thought and change.
Throughout the master's degree, you will reflect on the human condition by bringing philosophy into dialogue with diverse fields such as technology, economics, politics, law, and art. The Master's program is greatly satisfying my expectations. The content is stimulating and of high quality, and as a student, I feel like I am taking a significant step forward. Every day brings forth new ideas and relevant reflections. Additionally, the relationship with the professors and the coordination is friendly, close, and facilitating. I absolutely recommend this Master's program to anyone interested in taking their passion for philosophical thought, arts, and culture further.
It is a pleasure to be able to share space with other colleagues who come from different fields and who give me perspectives and make me think about things that perhaps I had not thought about from these points of view until now. The teachers are very close, very attentive and always willing to help in anything; they are a source of knowledge that a master's degree is not enough to exhaust it. In addition, it is not a master's degree in contemporary philosophy, but it is a classic master's degree applied to contemporaneity.
The knowledge of the master's degree is changing my day-to-day life a lot. I come from a technical background and, if I could go back in time, what I would do is a double humanist and technological career. The fact of being able to share with people who come from different backgrounds—philosophy, aesthetics, politics, science—and of different ages, allows me to have a much richer vision, a much more open view, and allows me, in a very fast-paced world, to make a stop and have a much more integral, much more holistic vision.
Professionally, the master's degree helps me to better develop my task on a day-to-day basis, it gives me new perspectives, new trends, also incorporating technology. And, personally, it helps me to continue to develop that critical sense, that critical thinking, and to continue exploring the new possibilities that present themselves.
