Description
The subject intends to give the student the knowledge for the 3d modeling and texturing processes as well as the tools needed for 3d printing any model During the semester, we’ll focus on the character creation and the necessary techniques for texturing, lighting and rendering . The student will have a global understanding of the 3d modeling process meant for animation, 3d printing or videogames

RA.01 3d Software knowledge for the creative process . 3d Max, Zbrush, Photoshop, Cura..
RA.02 Modeling a character ready for printing
RA.03 Learning how a 3d printer works adn how to prepeare any 3d design with the slicer
RA.04 Hard surface modeling.
RA.05 3d caharacter texturing . Learning the process of baking, uv mapping and texturing
RA.06 3d rendering a character in a virtual enviroment

Modeling
- Basic fundamentals. Techniques for both organic and geometrical shapes. Zbrush and 3d Max
- Character creation base .Design and Sculpting
- Low Poly and High Poly concepts

3d Printing
- Preparing the 3d model for printing
- Use of Cura slicer for Gcode generation
- Technical aspects for printer functionality

Texturing and rendering
- UVs. Maps generation
- Texturing with Zbrush and Photoshop
- Rendering and 3d character presentation

Evaluation Criteria

Evaluation rules

Passing SA1 SA2 SA3 SA4 is mandatory in order to compute the final mark

All exercices, practices, projects and other tasks must be done individually
Presenting or copying work done by others is totally forbidden and it will be considered a serious fault

SA1 Exams
The subject will have 2 exams and will evaluate the level reached from lessons content

SA2 Exercices and practices
There will be different tasks and exercices that will have to be presented for a correct follow-up
No exercise will be accepted for submission after deadline. Exercise submission is mandatory for passing the subject
Failing or not submiting the exercises on time during the course will result as making a recuperation exam where all the non approved exercices will have to be submited . The máximum mark in this case will be 5 over 10

SA3. Final Project
The final project will have to show off the contents explained during the course

SA4. Portfolio
This portfolio will have to document by using images and explanations the steps followed for the Final Project execution as well as the final rendered images showing off the character created
