Alumni and professors from the School of Architecture at La Salle-URL receive awards at the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism

Alumni Pau Garrofé and Karine Bagdasaryan receive awards at BEAU XVII in the Final Degree Project category

La Salle-URL Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSALS) exports talent to the world’s leading architecture, design, and urban planning festivals. At the 17th edition of BEAU, the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, alumni and professors from the School received several awards and recognitions for their works and projects.

In the Final Degree Project category, former students Pau Garrofé and Karine Bagdasaryan each received an award. Pau Garrofé’s project is entitled CER.AMICS: Thinkin with – Mundet biological station, while Karine Bagdasaryan’s project, who is also a former student and currently a lecturer in the Master of Science in Architecture, is Paral·lel Cultural Nexus. A shared vertical space. The achievements of both reflect the excellence of ETSALS students’ work upon completing their education at the campus.

In addition, BEAU XVII also recognized several professors:

  • Carles Enrich, Coordinator of the Master of Science in Architecture, in the Built Work category, for the project Fire Station Tower in Vall d’Hebron.
  • Claudi Aguiló, professor at ETSALS, in the Built Work category, which awarded the architecture firm Datae, of which he is a partner, for the project 30 Social Housing Units in Sant Just Desvern.
  • Marta Poch, professor at ETSALS, in the Dissemination and Publication category, for the monograph Housing in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. IMPSOL 2014–2025, published by the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) and the Metropolitan Institute for Land Promotion and Property Management (IMPSOL).

The Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BEAU) has been held since 1991 and is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, through the General Secretariat for Urban Agenda, Housing, and Architecture. Its aim is to recognize and reward a selection of high-quality works that represent the best and most diverse panorama of architecture and urbanism in Spain.
