Description
In this subject we will introduce the basic concepts of artificial intelligence and we will point out what role artificial intelligence could play in robotics. We will understand that a robot to be able to act intelligently would need to understand the environment, know how to adapt (learn), solve problems, plan, make decisions and act. Thus, the course will focus on the fundamental pillars of Artificial Intelligence in order to advance towards the path of designing intelligent robots in the next course.

Objectives

The objective of this subject is to lay the foundations of artificial intelligence for application to robotics:
- To learn the main search algorithms to solve problems. Regarding the quality of the solution and computational requirements (time and memory)
- To learn and apply the basic methods of machine learning.
- To expand concepts in the field of AI related to robotics.
- A practical application.

Contents

The detail of the agenda and the specific order in which the different concepts will be addressed within each chapter will be described in class.

Evaluation Criteria

This subject will have a continuous evaluation as follows:

FINAL NOTE = 30% Exercises + 30% Work + 40% Project; all parts> = 5

Based on your answer regarding continuous assessment, we reserve the possibility of evaluating the theoretical part with two exams: one during the midterm week and the other during the exam period. It will be decided throughout the first month of sessions.
