Storytelling and script creation

Description
Fiction or not, each good story needs to be built using a set of techniques and rules to be effective. The course aims to provide knowledge and tools to detect and identify the models of underlying dramaturgical structures in all narratives, with a special focus on the audiovisual media. In this subject, the student will be presented with the bases of narrative, script analyzing dramaturgical works and performing practices such as basic writing for audiovisuals. It will also be practiced with another important element when creating an audiovisual product; audiovisual language; framing, size and position of objects in the plane, etc.

Objectives

This subject has two main objectives. The first The main objective of the subject is to provide the student with the fundamental knowledge about traditional and audiovisual dramaturgical structures, to successfully develop the creation of basic audiovisual contents. The second is that students get to understand audiovisual language and that together with the structures they can create an audiovisual product.

Methodology

Face-to-face classes with frontal presentation of the contents.
Reading texts in class and out of class.
Analysis of audiovisual products in class and out of class.
Individual and team continuous assessment exercises.
Work for projects with the involvement of the student making decisions and solving problems.
Attendance, participation and attitude in classes.

Evaluation

This subject is based on continuous evaluation.

?The final grade is the result of the weighted average of the exercises carried out in this period.

Within the learning activities there are two questionnaires; A.A.11 and A.A.15. Although they have the weight that is reflected in the following table at the time of making the average, if the grade of any of these is less than 5 the subject will be suspended.
The NON-delivery of an exercise will be counted as a 0 and will average with the rest of the exercises.

Lack of attendance:

Many of the exercises will be done in full during school hours (continuous evaluation). The lack of attendance at the time a practice is carried out means the failure of it with a 0.

Extraordinary call:

To recover the subject, all the suspended exercises must be delivered. The mark that will be obtained from these will not exceed 5. These exercises will be recovered individually, either individually or in groups.

No tool can be used to carry out the proposed activities. To do so is a violation of academic honesty policies.

Evaluation Criteria

The final grade is the result of the weighted average of the exercises carried out in this period.
