Syllabus

TOTAL CREDITS: 60 ECTS

This Master's Degree is taught using a blended learning method, using online modules through a platform adapted to the programme together with workshops and/or seminars for each of the modules, on Saturdays.

The techniques and content included in the programme have been selected by research experts meaning the student will apply the cutting-edge methods they will need in professional practice. The programme is linked to the creation of a project for companies in which the deliverables for each module are part of the development and evolution of the project. Students deal with the client from day one. During all the modules the students work applying Agile UX methodologies. Students will create work they will send on to customers from the very first module.

ONLINE MOdulEs

Each of these modules will have a deliverable associated with the collaborating company. To carry out this work, the students will have a specialised tutor for each module who will follow up both online and in person (during the seminars). The role of the mentor or tutor will be to provide technical and practical advice to ensure high quality work is delivered. 

AGILE UX (5 ECTS) 

The management, control and coordination of the projects and team will be done using agile methodologies. Methods and tools. This module is carried out through follow-up group tutorials throughout the course.

UX PROJECT MANAGEMENT (5 ECTS) 

Project management, UX-oriented human resource management, knowledge of how to sell usability, accessibility and user experience projects, budget oversight and team coordination.

USER CENTERED DESIGN (5 ECTS) 

Definition, basic principles, standards and regulations governing usability on media devices. Introduction to analysis with users.

ACCESSIBILITY AND UX (5 ECTS) 

Definition, standards, regulations and legislation of accessibility on media devices. Accessible user experience.

WEB ANALYTICS​ (5 ECTS)

Multi-platform web interaction, data processing knowledge, web analytics and conversion optimisation The architecture of information.  This module is the only one in which it is not possible to work with customer data.

DESIGN THINKING (5 ECTS)

Methodology based on participatory processes, used mainly to create or define strategies for products or services, enhancing creativity.

PRODUCT CONCEPT ​ (5 ECTS) 

Sketching techniques, wireframing and prototype design focused on the user experience.

EVALUATION TECHNIQUES WITH USERS (5 ECTS)

Iterative design, evaluation techniques with users, test planning phase, test execution phase and post-test phase. On-site test in the laboratory.

USER INTERFACE (5 ECTS) 

Creation of the style guide for the proposal, web re-design based on the results obtained in the previous modules.

TFM: MASTER’S THESIS  (15 ECTS) 

Work synthesising the modules carried out and creation of a new report to be delivered to the client including the finished project.

 

ONSITE SESSIONS

Throughout the course, students will attend a series of seminars and workshops that will be directly related to the module being carried out at that time.
