Description
Being aware that the master's degree focuses on data science and the area of Artificial Intelligence, this subject aims to accompany students in the work of ethical criteria and the legal frameworks or limits that a data scientist should know. In this way, we intend that our students apply it in the field of knowledge and develop a level of reflection and well-reasoned and well-founded criteria. Likewise, this subject aims for the student to learn the legal concepts that must be taken into account in the development and protection of data processing tools.

Methodology

The methodology used combines master classes, student participation, film forum, debates, and the development of a project. For the student, this will involve both individual and group works, as well as conceptual exercises, written exercises, and oral presentations.

Evaluation

Continuous assessment
This subject will be evaluated continuously from oral presentations, work and / or exercises and participation in class. 60% of the evaluation will depend on: (i) participation in class (attendance is recommended); (ii) the individual submission of a written analysis on data protection in a jurisdiction; and (iii) film forum file. 40% will depend on a teamwork that will be presented in writing on a project for the processing of personal data and its legal limitations, which will be defended orally in the last session of the subject.

Extraordinary call
The exam and/or works of extraordinary call will be determined from the coordination of the subject.
