You will learn in a dynamic and collaborative environment where knowledge is built through exploration, critical thinking and project development.
The methodology is grounded in the knowledge model of La Salle School of Architecture, which understands architecture as the integration of three inseparable dimensions: Design, Technology and Culture. While design fosters creativity and the ability to develop projects, and technology provides the tools to turn ideas into reality, culture brings critical reflection, context and the ability to interpret and share knowledge. Within this framework, the Master’s in Cultural Studies in Architecture focuses in depth on the Culture dimension, preparing professionals to analyse architecture from a humanistic and interdisciplinary perspective and to develop new forms of research, communication and cultural production.
This methodology combines studio-based learning, seminars, masterclasses and workshops, fostering a critical approach to contemporary cultural, social and urban challenges.
At the heart of this experience is the Design Studio, the distinctive learning environment of La Salle School of Architecture. More than a classroom, it is a shared working environment where students and lecturers exchange ideas, challenge perspectives and develop projects in research, cultural production and experimentation. It is an open laboratory for reflection and collective creation, where new ways of thinking and acting through architecture can be explored and tested.
Throughout the programme, you will take part in masterclasses led by professionals and internationally recognised experts, analyse case studies and key authors to understand the cultural, social and political contexts of architecture, and develop projects through practical workshops guided by experts.
The experience is complemented by debates, discussion forums and activities connected to Barcelona’s cultural and architectural ecosystem, bringing you closer to the real-world challenges and opportunities of the sector.
