Methodology
The activities of the program will take place in the acoustics laboratories of La Salle – URL, which are part of the IASLab (Interactive Arts & Science Laboratory).
The facilities include:
- An anechoic chamber, designed to allow the propagation of sound waves without reflections on the walls, creating what is known as a free-field.
- A reverberation chamber, designed to generate a diffuse sound field, where sound comes from all directions.
- A recording studio, which is a facility prepared for sound recording and mixing.
- A resonance chamber, designed for experiments with a room’s natural frequencies.
- The central room, the heart of the acoustics laboratory: a meeting point for researchers and students, and a space dedicated to research and the exchange of ideas. It is equipped with several computers running the most advanced acoustic engineering software.
- The audio postproduction room, designed for postproduction, editing, and mixing sound.
In addition, you will have access to the rest of the IASLab spaces, such as the immersive room, research laboratories in artificial intelligence, visual effects, virtual reality, augmented reality, and robotics.
