The course is an introduction to the complexities of international business. We will together cover a range of subjects; the various political, economic, cultural, and legal differences in the countries around the world, world trade, international monetary and economic issues systems, and an examination of global strategies when entering a foreign market and managing global operations.

Methodology

The course is oriented towards individual and group learning. Each class will be centered on class discussions. Active participation is critical. During conceptual discussions, We will facilitate the process and explain main concepts. However, each student is responsible for formulating his/her own synthesis building upon the conceptual readings, class participation and class discussion.
When we have sessions that include a case or news item, the students must prepare deeply and participate actively in class discussions. It is essential that students prepare for each session and attend classes.

Evaluation

Your final grade consists of four parts:

Class Participation: 30%

2 Individual assignments about the internationalization process of a firm: 20%

Team project (integration of previous individual assignments and presentation): 20%

Final Exam: 30%
