La Salle Campus Barcelona, a founding member of the Universitat Ramon Llull, promotes a range of activities within the framework of its doctoral education, the highest academic degree within the European Higher Education Area, with the celebration of a new edition of Doctoral Week.

The programme has brought together researchers, experts and professionals who have delivered various sessions for students enrolled in the two doctoral programmes currently offered on campus: the PhD Programme in Information Technologies and their Application to Management, Architecture and Geophysics, and the PhD Programme in Philosophy: Humanism and Transcendence.

Between 19 and 23 January, a series of sessions, seminars and conferences were held with the aim of fostering research and knowledge transfer between doctoral students and campus researchers. La Salle-URL currently channels its research activity through two research groups accredited with the TECNIO seal: Human Environment Research (HER) and Smart Society.

With regard to the PhD in Information Technologies and their Application to Management, Architecture and Geophysics, the sessions explored topics such as research communication, quality criteria, knowledge transfer, ethics and patents. At the same time, within the framework of Doctoral Week, proposals and follow-up activities related to the students’ Research Plan were carried out for those required to develop it in an off-cycle period.

Meanwhile, students from the PhD Programme in Philosophy: Humanism and Transcendence took part in two workshops held throughout the week: Philosophy of Comedy: William Shakespeare and Scientific Writing Workshop.

Overall, the activities organised during Doctoral Week reinforce La Salle-URL’s commitment to doctoral education, research and knowledge transfer, fundamental pillars of university education and of the campus’s development throughout its history.
