The Glory Façade is the main façade of the Sagrada Família and is currently still under construction.

This event forms part of the official programme of the Gaudí Year, an initiative that in 2026 approaches the figure of the architect on the centenary of his death through a perspective of academic rigour and by exploring the interrelation of his complete body of work. The session is part of the Vespres de Pensament cycle, a space for reflection and dialogue around the major issues of the contemporary world. It also takes place in a particularly significant year for the city, marked by Barcelona’s designation as World Capital of Architecture 2026

The Glory Façade is the main façade of the Sagrada Família and is currently still pending construction. This work, planned by Antoni Gaudí with an extraordinary level of detail, will be the largest and most symbolic façade of the temple.

Gaudí conceived this façade as a map of the afterlife, representing the Last Judgementheavenhell and purgatory, and inviting reflection on lifedeath and the spiritual meaning of existence.

Through the lecture by Dr. Francesc Torralba, we will explore the spiritual and philosophical vision of Gaudí, examining how architectureart and theology combine to build a symbolic discourse of great depth. We will also reflect on how this symbolism can be reinterpreted today, connecting it with a contemporary perspective on life and transcendence
