.ETHICS IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE Today, perhaps more than ever, it is essential to insist that technology, in itself, is ethically neutral. Everything depends on how we use it. AI can serve the human community, but it could also be the other way around: we might be serving this new tool. That is why it is worth complementing purely technological training with some reflection on the meaning of it all. Think not only about the means but also about the ends. |
.ETHICS AND ETHICAL ASPECTS WITH THE GREATEST INFLUENCE Starting from specific dilemmas, we will try to get to the foundations. In this topic, we will approach notions of general ethics that now function, in reality, as implicit assumptions in the current ethical debate on artificial intelligence. We will also briefly analyze some of the ethical thought currents that are most influential in this debate. |
.ETHICAL PRINCIPLES AT LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVELS There is increasing consensus among specialists about the need to regulate AI use. In this topic, we will study the principles, indications, and requirements that ethics committees of various institutions (at the Catalan, state, European, and global levels) are agreeing on. This will lead us to reflect on notions such as privacy, biases, security versus freedom, transparency, fairness, and accountability, among others. |
.LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS Considering legal aspects in AI application is not only a matter of regulatory compliance but also a way to ensure ethics, fairness, and safety in the development and use of these technologies. Moreover, the regulatory framework has a significant impact on businesses, as companies must ensure that their practices conform to existing laws and regulations to avoid sanctions and economic losses. The misuse of AI can have serious consequences, such as loss of consumer trust, damage to reputation, and potential litigation. The link between ethics and the legal world is enormous, as laws often reflect ethical principles that seek to protect individual rights and freedoms and promote a just and equitable society. |
.HOW TO APPLY THE ETHICAL CONCEPT TO AI MODEL TRAINING (MODEL AND DATA) Applying the ethical concept to AI model training involves ensuring transparency, fairness, privacy, security, accountability, sustainability, inclusion, and legal compliance. This includes documenting development, designing explainable models, correcting biases, protecting data, conducting security tests, maintaining detailed records, minimizing energy consumption, promoting diversity in teams, and complying with regulations. |
