The Summer School at La Salle Campus Barcelona, Be an Architect: Design your Project in Barcelona, is a practical workshop in which you will discover how architecture is conceived, imagined and developed, inspired by Barcelona a city full of history and architectural richness. During the program you will be introduced to how architects work, exploring how design, city, landscape, and culture combine to create the spaces in which we live.
Architecture at La Salle, and in general in Spain, is characterized by its multidisciplinary approach. You will not only learn how to design buildings, but also how to understand the relationship between architecture, city, climate, and society. Through hands-on workshops, you'll learn how to imagine and develop spaces by combining creativity and critical thinking.
During the course you will work with architectural representation tools, such as sketches, physical models and digital resources, which will allow you to express and develop your ideas. You will also discover some technical fundamentals of architecture, such as structures, construction, and installations, and learn how buildings materialize.
The Summer School is taught 100% in person and in English, so it is necessary that you have an intermediate level to make the most of the experience and interact with classmates from different countries.
You can choose to participate for one or two weeks, at the time that best suits you:
- ESSENTIAL TRACK: includes classes only.
- CAMPUS LIFE TRACK: includes meals on campus.
- EXPLORER TRACK: also incorporates cultural activities.
- COMPLETE PACK: a full complete experience including accommodation with full board and airport transfer, in addition to all of the above.
The Explorer Track and Complete Pack are available for two-week stays only, an ideal choice if you're looking for a more intense cultural immersion. You can enjoy experiences on campus, cultural outings and organized plans on weekends.
