The course Be an Architect in Barcelona: Design Your Project in Barcelona is a two-week workshop where you will imagine, design, and build Barcelona, a city full of history and architectural richness. The goal is that, while preparing for your future studies in Architecture, you get to know Barcelona, enjoy its architecture, and experience life on an international university campus.

You can choose to enroll in the first week or the full two weeks of the course. During Week 1, you will visit one of the jewels of modern architecture, the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona, to better understand modern architecture, its elements, and the design of its spaces.

In Week 2, you will work on an architectural project at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. In the project, you will learn to create graphic representations and 3D models. At the end, you will present the design proposals you developed with your peers. No specific materials are required during the course.

Throughout the program, you will work both individually and in teams to develop your projects, allowing you to create a personal portfolio ideal for your future university application.

The Director of the La Salle School of Architecture (ETSALS), Architect Josep Ferrando, will give a keynote lecture on Barcelona. The rest of the sessions will be taught by university professors, with the assistance of Doctoral and Master’s students, all of whom are active architects and professionals.

The Summer School is taught in a 100% in-person format and in English, so it is necessary to have an intermediate level to fully benefit from the experience and connect with peers from various nationalities.

You can choose between participating for one or two weeks, at the schedule that best suits you:

  • From 10 AM to 2 PM: Includes lectures in your speciality.
  • From 10 AM to 3 PM: Includes lectures and meal at the campus, where you will interact with students from all courses
  • From 10 AM to 8 PM (two weeks): Includes lectures, meals at the campus, and cultural activities.
  • Complete Package (two weeks): Includes lectures, accomodation at the university residence (located within the campus), meals, airport-campus transfer service (and vice versa), and cultural activities (first weekend included).

By choosing an option with activities, you’ll take part in cultural excursions and organized weekend plans. Learning and fun go hand in hand. Connect with classmates from around the world and enjoy a more complete and enriching experience.

Undoubtedly, if you’re considering studying Architecture or Design at university, this is the course for you!
