The prestigious Impact Ranking, produced by Times Higher Education magazine, recognizes the work of Universitat Ramon Llull, of which La Salle Campus Barcelona is a founding member, in the area of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the set of goals created by the United Nations. In this ranking, URL improves in all the ODS in which it has participated and is ranked as the 1st university in Catalonia in ODS 8: 'Decent work and economic growth'.
The ranking evaluates the impact of the activity of 2152 universities from 125 countries and, of the total, the URL appears in the range 601-800 of the best universities in the world. The rest of the SDGs in which the university improves are quality education (ODS4); Gender equality (SDG5); Affordable and non-polluting energy (ODS7); Decent work and economic growth (SDG8); Reduction of inequalities (ODS10); Action for the climate (SDG13); Alliances to achieve the goals (SDG17).
Regarding the good results of ODS8, the indicators that are collected to evaluate it focus on the role of universities as engines of economic growth and on their responsibilities as employers. In this way, the institutions' economic research, their work practices and the percentage of students who do internships in companies are analysed.
With respect to sustainability and climate action, the URL obtains good positions in ODS13 Climate Action (101-200 worldwide) and in ODS7 Affordable and non-polluting energy (201-300 worldwide).
The good results are the result of the work done by the institutions that are part of the Universitat Ramon Llull and which is coordinated by the Commission for the Impulse of the 2030 Agenda and the Decarbonisation Working Group. For its part, La Salle Campus Barcelona has a firm commitment to making the world more sustainable and has specific lines of action such as the 'La Salle Social Challenges' project, recognized with the 'Good practices in university social commitment' award for the Aristos Campus Mundus Awards; the transversal subject Thinking and Creativity, in which students develop transversal projects linked to the ODS; the Cátedra Internacional ODS made up of several La Salle universities; or the work to adapt and improve the energy of the buildings that are part of the campus.
