byWomen. New Readings on Mediterranean Cultural Landscapes
Research Lines
A reinterpretation of the Mediterranean landscape through the photography and cinema of four artists: Elli Sougioultzoglou-Seraidari, known as Nelly’s (1899–1998), Manuelle Roche (1931–2010), Mey Rahola (1897–1959), and Atteyat Al Abnoudy (1939–2018). These women offered unique perspectives and innovative approaches, developing an alternative visual narrative of Mediterranean heritage. The project introduces a theoretical and visual analysis based on research, archival work, and academic presentations.
The goal is to incorporate these voices into the official narrative of Mediterranean heritage, enriching it through an inclusive and critical lens.
