Montserrat Villaverde Rey

Professor and Researcher
Art Historian, specialized in research related to architectural, urban, and landscape heritage. Throughout her professional career, she has combined research as a foundation of knowledge with academia, as a fundamental and committed part of teaching, giving lectures in the Architecture Degree and the Master´s program at ETSA La Salle since 2003. In her studio àqabaBcn, founded in 1998, she has conducted historical architectural, urban, and landscape studies at the local, national, and international levels; internationally highlighting her collaboration in European projects such as Euromed Heritage: Corpus, Corpus Llevant, RehabiMed, and Montada. Her publications, exhibitions, talks, colloquia, and lectures aim fundamentally at understanding heritage from a historical perspective, in which space, time, and context are the axes through which material legacy is analyzed.
She is a member of the research group ALEC, RehabiMed, ICOMOS Spain. Co-director of the projects Patrimonio Guinea and By Women. Both projects are linked to re-readings of material and landscape heritage, from a decolonial perspective in Equatorial Guinea and memory and gender in By Women.
