La Salle-URL takes part in ISE 2026, the international trade fair for technology and audiovisual solutions

Students, professors and Brooder Lab are part of a programme that reflects on artificial intelligence, innovation, education and cybersecurity

La Salle-URL has taken part in a new edition of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), one of the leading international events for technology and audiovisual solutions. Held at Fira Barcelona Gran Via and under the slogan Push Beyond, this year’s edition has reflected on artificial intelligence, innovation, education and digital security.

Campus students take centre stage at ISE 2026

Students from the La Salle-URL Digital Engineering School (ETSELS) have led La Salle-URL’s participation at ISE 2026. Four students from the Bachelor in Digital Arts presented the project Hilma af Klint: The Art of the Beyond, an immersive experience that explores the creative and spiritual universe of the pioneer of abstract art Hilma af Klint through audiovisual storytelling, 3D environments and sound design. The piece, created by Irina Montiel, Máximo Salcedo, Martí Niubó and Lidia Ubieto, was developed with the support of Brooder Lab, the content and emerging talent incubator of La Salle Campus Barcelona, and was selected by the Department of Culture of the Government of Catalonia, through Catalan Arts, to be exhibited at its stand.

In addition, one of the main activities of ISE, the Hackathon, which brings together several international universities and institutions, included two teams made up of engineering students from La Salle-URL. These teams were selected to take part in the final phase, where eighteen teams competed, chosen from more than one hundred participating groups. The organisation proposed challenges in the fields of cybersecurity, innovation and sustainability, and the campus students took part in the cybersecurity and innovation challenges. The group that participated in the cybersecurity challenge consisted of Berta Bellavista Salvadó, Èlia Clavaguera Estella, Mar Peña Ramia, and Elia Yubero García. Meanwhile, the students who participated in the innovation challenge were Sara Gibert, Júlia Serra, Joan Enric Peiró, and Daniel Soler.
The presentation of results took place at the Pitching Stage of the ISE Congress Innovation Park.

Furthermore, engineering students from La Salle-URL also provided services at ISE 2026, offering specialised technical support in IT systems, network infrastructures and digital services. This year's participants were Xavier Alsina Moyano, Jofre Tura Centelles, Martí Dalmau Solé, Madeleine Miras Lopez, Raquel Riteco Cabañas, Mario Aguado Martínez, Marc Hernandez Escuderos, and David Castro Martín.

Tech Tours and Spark: technology, innovation and creativity

Alongside the trade fair, ISE organises several parallel activities to further explore the intersection of technology, innovation and creativity, and Barcelona’s role within the European audiovisual context. The Interactive Arts & Science Laboratory (IASlab), La Salle-URL’s pioneering laboratory in transdisciplinary research and artistic creation, hosted the first of the Tech Tours, a series of guided visits to leading institutions in the field of technology and innovation.

As a new feature of this edition, ISE has promoted the creation of Spark, the creative industries event designed to bring together creative professionals and technologists to connect, share ideas and explore the future of creativity. Felix Balbas, Director of the Bachelor in Animation & VFX at La Salle-URL and Creative Director of Brooder Lab, delivered the talk What if? The hidden engine of creativity in AI times.
