2. Enrolment conditions

2.1. First-year students

2.2. Enrolment on courses from more than one academic year

2.3. Enrolment on a new academic course

2.4. Department intensification and specialization

2.1. First-year students

Students who have subjects pending from first year must enrol on these subjects and re-sit them in second year.

Students who only have passed or transferred half or less of the first-year credits, will have to enrol in the pending subjects.

REGULATIONS ON ADMISSION TO SECOND YEAR

Students who do not obtain a minimum of 20 credits from the course subjects on completion of their first academic year shall not be eligible to continue their studies at this institution. Credits obtained through transfers or recognition are not considered as obtainable credits.

The Academic Evaluation Board shall apply this measure to students in light of their progress and academic performance.

2.2. Enrolment on courses from more than one academic year

The subjects that a student is enrolled in must belong to the same academic year or at the most, to two consecutive academic years.

If the total number of credits of both academic years is less than 75 credits, students may enrol on the necessary subjects to meet the credit requirements.

Therefore, students can enrol in subjects they choose, provided they respect the rules established in the previous paragraph. Credits obtained through transfers or recognition are not considered as obtainable credits.

2.3. Enrolment on a new academic course

To enrol in subjects of a new academic year, students will have to enrol in any pending subjects from previous courses, unless they have dropped out of the undergraduate degree the subjects belong to.

2.4. Department intensification and specialization

To be eligible for the intensification or specialization courses of the Business School, students need the previous approval from the corresponding Department or Section. This authorization must be submitted when the payment of the enrolment fees is completed.

3. Incompatibilities

3.1. Pre-requisites

3.2. Co-requisites

3.1. Pre-requisites and incompatibilities between subjects

Take a look at the syllabus.

Before finalizing the enrolment process, students must check whether there are any incompatibilities or pre-requisites for their chosen subjects.

La asignatura AD009 Accounting II tiene com a prerrequisito la asignatura AD003 Accounting I.

To enroll in a subject, it will be necessary to have passed its prerequisites.

Exceptionally, the head of studies may authorize registration for incompatible subjects at the request of the interested party.

If a student has no more than 3 subjects left to finish the undergraduate program, incompatibilities will not be taken into account, provided that the student enrolls in all these subjects.

3.2. Co-requisites

There are no co-requisites.

4. Final year project

Transfer students from other universities who have only the final project left cannot transfer their academic record to La Salle.

To enrol on the final project, students must have passed all the subjects from the penultimate year of their course program, and must enrol on all the remaining subjects.

The presentation of the final project in front of the Academic Evaluation Board requires the previous registration title of the project, together with the approval of the supervising teacher and the Head of Department.

The project is the final part of the degree program.

5. Exams and grades

5.1. Exams

5.2. Appealing against a grade

5.3. Grades and the Academic Evaluation Board

5.1. Exams

Students have the right to be officially examined and graded on every subject they are enrolled in.

The examination session is part of the course, and consequently students cannot waive the exam session. If a student does not sit an exam, s/he will automatically lose the right to be graded and will have a “not presented” on her/his file.

5.2. Appealing against a grade

Students have the right to appeal against the final grade of the subjects. The appeal and the resolution of the grade will be regulated by the following rules:

  • The student has 15 days from the publication of the grades to request the review of the exam that is the object of dispute. A written request is made to the Director.
  • The Director will arbitrate on the procedure s/he considers appropriate to solve the dispute.
  • Professors must keep the exams or documents used for grading the exams for at least a month from the publication of the exam results to guarantee the possibility of review.

5.3. Awarding of grades

Grades will only be awarded for the ordinary and extraordinary examination sessions, regardless of the dates or the type of evaluation. Given the nature of the extraordinary exam session, the mark awarded will replace the ordinary grade on the student’s academic record.

Exam results will be available on the following dates:

  • June exams: July 15th.
  • September exams: October 15th.
  • January and February exams: March 30th.

After the September exam session, students who have no more than two subjects remaining to complete their studies will have the right to take the exams for these subjects in the January/February session. This does not apply to the subject of English.

These students will have to officially enrol for all the subjects through the standard procedure, as set out in section 1.2 of these regulations.

In January/February there will be an extraordinary exam session. If a student fails the subject or subjects in this exam session, s/he will have the right to re-take the exams in the ordinary session in June and in the extraordinary session in September.

6. Credit transfers and recognition

6.1. In the event of a student possessing credits from the same subject of an unfinished program at La Salle, the credit transfer of the grades and subjects will be automatically recognized during the Admission Process.

6.2. Students wishing to transfer credits from subjects taken at other centers must submit an application form addressed to the Director of the Academic Department together with the required documentation.

Only subjects requested by the student will be processed.

6.3. This request will include all the studies undertaken at the time of application, and the transfer will cover all the possible subjects of the degree program. Once credits have been transferred, this decision is irrevocable

6.4. Transfers will only be accepted on the strength of completed courses, never on subjects that have been previously recognized by other centers.

6.5. The Credit Transfer Committee will meet in October. Once the student has been informed of the resolution of her/his request, s/he will have to enrol in all the recognized subjects.

6.6. Documents required:

  • Official accredited degree, diploma or certificate.
  • Course guide or syllabus published by the corresponding university.
  • Course program included in the afore mentioned syllabus or curriculum.

All these documents must be official, original, issued by the official authorities and, in the case of foreign students, legalized by diplomatic means, and accompanied by their official translation into Catalan or Spanish.

7. Commitment to Academic Excellence and Classroom Conduct

At La Salle Campus Barcelona, the Business faculty is committed to maintaining an academic environment that promotes excellence, diversity, and respect. Campus Code of Conduct. La Salle Campus Barcelona establishes the general framework in support of these goals.

Following framework outlines specific disciplinary measures applicable to minor classroom-related offences that may not be explicitly covered in the general code.

This regulation does not replace the Campus Code of Conduct, but rather complements and clarifies it in the context of classroom behavior in Business programs.

7.1. Student Conduct - Disciplinary Framework

To preserve a respectful and productive learning atmosphere, the General Regulations - Business | La Salle | Campus Barcelona may be applied in cases of inappropriate behavior during class sessions. The progression through these steps (7.1.a a 7.1.e) will depend on the severity and recurrence of the misconduct and may not necessarily follow a linear order:

  1. First Offence: Inappropriate behavior (e.g., persistent talking, unauthorized phone use, disrespect) will result in a written warning and possible removal from the classroom.
  2. Second Offence (Same Subject): The student will lose the right to attend that subject’s classes. They may still submit assignments and take exams, but will not be eligible for in-class assessment activities.
  3. Second Offence (Different Subject): The student will be suspended for seven (7) teaching days.
  4. Third Offence: The student will be suspended from the university for fifteen (15) teaching days.
  5. Fourth Offence: The student will be permanently expelled from the degree program.

These measures are designed to protect the integrity of our academic programmes and ensure that all students benefit from a high-quality, respectful learning environment.
