From 19 to 23 January, La Salle-URL will hold Doctoral Week, a series of sessions, seminars and conferences aimed at fostering research and knowledge transfer among doctoral students and campus researchers. These sessions will feature researchers, experts and professionals who will lead various activities for students enrolled in the two doctoral programmes currently offered at La Salle Campus Barcelona:

Within the framework of the PhD Programme in Information Technologies and their Application to Management, Architecture and Geophysics, two seminars have been scheduled:​

  • 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Outreach, by Dr Alba Sabaté, lecturer and researcher at Blanquerna-UR
  • 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Research quality criteria
    Coordination and 1st session: Dr Xavier Vilasís
    Session on Citizen Science: Ángel Marín Cojo, architect and researcher at La Salle-URL
    Session on Projects and Knowledge Transfer: Xavier Baño, Head of Knowledge Transfer at La Salle-URL
    Session on Ethics: Dr Carles Garriga, researcher and Head of the Research Ethics Committee at La Salle-URL
    Session on Patents: Dr Jaume Anguera, lecturer and researcher at La Salle-URL

At the same time, within the framework of Doctoral Week, proposals and follow-up activities related to the Research and Investigation Plan of the students will be carried out, corresponding to those required to complete them on a counter-cyclical basis.

Meanwhile, for the PhD Programme in Philosophy: Humanism and Transcendence, sessions will be held in classroom L.01 of the Lluçanès Building:

  • All week, 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: Philosophy of Comedy: William Shakespeare, by Dr Armando Pego, lecturer, researcher and programme coordinator
  • Monday and Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: Scientific Writing Workshop, by Dr Armando Pego, lecturer, researcher and programme coordinator

This initiative reinforces La Salle-URL’s commitment to doctoral education, the highest academic degree within the European Higher Education Area, as well as to research and knowledge transfer, which are fundamental pillars of university education and of the campus’s development throughout its history.
