Campus organizes a week dedicated to animation and digital arts

The Animation&Arts Week at La Salle Campus Barcelona has the special participation of Rudi Bloss, director of Disney+

La Salle Campus Barcelona, ​​founding member of Universitat Ramon Llull, organizes the Animation&Arts Week and claims once again as one of the leading university centers in the animation and digital arts sector. The event consisted of workshops, conferences with international speakers, exhibitions and presentations of the work of animation and digital arts students. The different activities were concentrated between June 25 and 28 in several spaces on campus.

One more course, the students of the Animation and VFX and Digital Arts degrees claimed their talent and showed the academic excellence of their studies along with the presence of top-level international speakers such as Rudi Bloss, animator and director of Disney+, this year's special guest, who gave workshops and conferences about the industry and his 30 years of experience.

For a week, animation and digital arts offered the campus the opportunity to learn from references in the profession and to learn about the reality of the sector at a global level.

Animation & Arts Fest: Rudi Bloss, 30 years in the animation sector

Animation&Arts Week was pleased to have Rudi Bloss, an animator and director with more than 30 years of experience in the audiovisual sector and who currently directs The Proud Family, on Disney+. In his long career Rudi Bloss has worked as a 2D and 3D animator, director, screenwriter and character designer for companies such as Disney +, Warner Brothers or Dreamworks. During Animation&Arts Week he gave workshops and mentored animation students.

On Friday, June 28, within the framework of La Salle Animation & Art Fest, Rudi Bloss gave a conference in the campus Auditorium in which he reviewed the current state of the sector, the changes that he has experienced and the challenges that lie ahead.

Project presentations at the Centre d’Arts Digitals IDEAL

Animation students on campus presented their final projects during the week and one of the presentations took place at the Center d’Arts Digitals IDEAL, a pioneering space that experiences virtual reality in large-format exhibitions. The student Laia Tarragó presented her Final Degree Project in this space on June 25.

A unique show at the IASLab

The IASLab, the multisensory laboratory of the La Salle Campus Barcelona, ​​is the setting where animation students exhibited their work, using all the resources that the building's immersive room puts at their disposal.

On the other hand, on June 28, the IASLab Community Show was held, a small festival where the candidates for the Master of Science in Digital Arts and Creative Technologies present their proposals and proposals for experimental art in Live A/V format. Performances, Immersive Experiences and Installations. This edition was mentored by the artistic studio DESILENCE and the artist and researcher Portrait XO.
