The first edition of the Digital Focus Festival, organized by La Salle-URL’s Digital Arts area, brings together over three days the digital talent and creativity of artists, students, professors, and researchers, who will showcase their projects and take part in various activities. On October 22, 23, and 24, participants and attendees will share space and experiences at Barcelona XRLAB Palo Alto, the newly opened technological and creative production center located in the Poblenou district, which has become a hub for the creative industries and strengthens Barcelona’s position as an epicenter of innovation and digital culture.
Degree Show: a showcase of student creativity
The festival begins on Wednesday, October 22, at 6:30 p.m., with an opening event where students, accompanied by friends, family, professors, artists, and institutional representatives, will inaugurate the exhibition —open until October 24— featuring projects from students and alumni of the Bachelor in Digital Arts: New Media & Concept Art and the Master of Science in Digital Arts and Creative Technologies at La Salle-URL.
final_final_ok_25, the talent celebration
On Thursday afternoon, October 23, the final_final_ok_25 talent celebration takes place a day of talks, performances, and networking sessions that in previous editions was held at the Interactive Arts & Science Laboratory (IASlab), the campus lab that is a pioneer in Europe in transdisciplinary research and artistic creation. Among the scheduled activities are talks by Ferran López, Creative Director of the agency Hello Diane; and Carolina Selmes, illustrator and visual artist. At 5:00 p.m. by the presentation of mentoring sessions from 'Projecta’t', the creative incubation program designed to support early professional projects in audiovisuals, animation, digital arts, and new media, promoted by Brooder Lab, La Salle-URL’s incubator for emerging content and talent.
Lecture series. The two-headed artist: between artistic practice and academia
Finally, on Friday, October 24, the last day of the Digital Focus Festival focuses on artistic practice and research, featuring talks by artists and researchers Lúa Coderch, José Enrique Mateo León, and Xavier Solé. In addition, good artistic and research practices will be shared in a round table that will address the intersection between artistic practice and academia.
