La Salle-URL presents its 2024-25 Annual Report with a focus on the new 2025-29 Strategic Plan

The document compiles the main data and milestones of the academic year and outlines the educational model and the campus’ transformative role

As every academic year, La Salle-URL compiles all its activity, data and milestones in its Annual Report, and the 2024-25 edition is now available. Under the theme "Time to care, time to create", the report details the impact generated by the campus and marks the starting point of the new 2025-29 Strategic Plan. “We aim to take a leap in scale to grow sustainably, increase the impact of our activity on our environment and strengthen our presence in both local and international ecosystems”, explains Josep M. Santos, General Director of La Salle-URL.

During the 2024-25 academic year, the campus experienced several key milestones, including the international ABET accreditation of the Bachelor in Computer Engineering; the inauguration of IASlab; participation in leading events such as ISE and 4YFN; the launch of Brooder Lab, the campus’ new incubator for emerging talent and content; the hosting of the Second European Meeting of Business Schools of CLADEA; the top position of Architecture studies in the CYD Ranking; and the EFMD accreditation of the Bachelor in Management of Business and Technology. The year also marked the passing of Br. Josep Martí, an academic and spiritual reference for the campus.

Educating inside and outside the classroom for a fairer and more sustainable world La Salle-URL reaffirms its commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through cross-cutting initiatives such as National Model United Nations, which last year announced it will hold an international edition on campus, and SDG Challenges, the practical component of the core subject Thought and Creativity, in which first-year students present projects linked to the SDGs. The campus is also a member of the Sant Cugat Innovation Alliance and holds ACEEU’s dual international accreditation in entrepreneurship and engagement. In line with its commitment to territorial, economic and social development, during the 2024-25 academic year the campus established the Social Board Council, a space for dialogue and collaboration between the university and social organisations. In the field of international cooperation, the Urubamba Project has been working since 2013 to guarantee the right to quality education in communities in Peru.

Among the key figures, the campus hosted more than 8,700 students, over 36% of whom are international, representing more than 115 nationalities. The graduate employability rate stands at 97%, and a total of 172 academic programmes were delivered during the year. Additionally, La Salle-URL increased the number of scholarship students by 11% and scholarship funding by 12%, reinforcing its commitment to equal opportunities and access to higher education. Regarding sustainability, the campus works across multiple areas to reduce its carbon footprint and act as an active agent in building a more sustainable society committed to caring for our common home. In terms of emissions reduction, La Salle-URL operates a self-consumption photovoltaic installation, generating 237,000 kWh during the 2024-25 academic year, an increase of more than 30,000 kWh compared to the previous year. Overall, this installation prevents the emission of 95 tonnes of CO2 annually.

A transdisciplinary and international ecosystem for the professionals of the future

La Salle Campus Barcelona educates future professionals across seven areas of knowledge through its four schools: the Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSALS), the Digital School of Engineering (ETSELS), the International School of Commerce and Digital Economy (FICEDLS), and the Faculty of Philosophy (FFLS). The coexistence of complementary perspectives fosters transdisciplinarity and allows students to work on real projects with peers from different fields.

In research, 114 projects were carried out during the 2024-25 academic year through the Smart Society and Human Environment Research (HER) groups, both structured into nine research lines and accredited with the TECNIO label. Knowledge transfer, as a core element of the university’s third mission, connects academia with society by promoting the practical application of research projects and initiatives. The campus ecosystem also includes La Salle Technova, an innovation park with 24 years of experience that supported 61 startups during the 2024-25 academic year, and Innova Institute, which hosts R&D&I academic research projects advancing knowledge in innovation, entrepreneurship and ICT management. La Salle-URL also has the Corporate Board Council, the campus Business Council that fosters strategic, business and socio-economic interaction between academia and industry, bringing together around thirty leading companies and institutions.

Internationalisation is another key pillar of La Salle-URL’s value proposition: more than 1,000 students had international experiences during the 2024-25 academic year through mobility programmes, study trips and other initiatives that enhance their learning and help them develop global skills.

With the conviction that education is the lever to drive the changes the world needs, and a commitment to educating students who innovate and lead in a complex and evolving global context, La Salle-URL promotes a holistic education oriented towards lifelong learning through the New Learning Context. Complementing undergraduate, master’s, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, the campus also develops its Professional & Executive Education area, aimed at executives, professionals and organisations, with a focus on training leaders capable of integrating technology, strategy and humanism to generate a positive impact on organisations and society.

Looking ahead, in the 2025-26 academic year the new Strategic Plan will be launched, with the ambition of achieving a leap in scale through a firm commitment to academic and digital transformation, strengthening the impact and social contribution of its knowledge ecosystem.
