The URL, recognized for its commitment to environmental sustainability by the QS Sustainability ranking

The Ramon Llull University (URL), of which La Salle-URL is a founding member, obtains notable results in its first participation in the QS Sustainability ranking. In this second edition of the ranking, the QS Sustainability once again evaluates the different ways in which universities act to address the main environmental and social challenges. To do this, it measures the commitment of universities in three categories: environmental impact, social impact and governance. These categories, in turn, integrate several indicators that serve to weight the final classification.

According to the ranking, URL stands out especially in the environmental sustainability indicator, ranking as the fifth best university in Spain (of the 38 classified). Furthermore, it is ranked globally in position 537 in the world, achieving a position above the average in this first participation. This year, nearly 1,400 universities from around the world have been classified in the QS Sustainability, which despite having only held two editions, is already a benchmark in the university field on a global scale to examine the work carried out by centers in matters of sustainability.

Both the URL as a whole, and La Salle-URL in particular, have assumed the commitment to positively impact society and help meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this sense, the results in the ranking have been achieved thanks to the implementation of measures to reduce consumption and the use of green technologies, a project led by the URL Decarbonization Working Group. This commission works on the actions defined in the Climate Action Roadmap of the Ramon Llull University, which includes commitments and forecasts for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
