La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull is hosting the international edition of National Model United Nations, an annual university-level simulation in which students are assigned to actual United Nations committees to analyse and debate global issues and challenges. From 23 to 27 November, the campus will welcome 400 university students and faculty members from more than 30 countries to take part in this experiential learning platform, which has been formally associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications since 1982.

After two decades of continuous participation as a delegation, La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull is hosting a conference focused on smart and sustainable cities, in the context of Barcelona 2026, World Capital of Architecture. Alena Múnera González, a student on the Bachelor in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, will serve as Secretary-General of NMUN·Spain. She assumed the role on 2 April 2026, when she delivered a speech in the United Nations General Assembly Hall during the closing ceremony of NMUN·New York 2026.

Throughout the week, students will take on the role of delegates representing United Nations (UN) Member States in high-level simulations. Through debates, negotiations and the drafting of documents, they will develop skills such as critical thinking, public speaking, persuasive communication, intercultural competence and professional conduct.

Access to the conference is restricted, and participation requires prior registration through the official National Model United Nations website.
