The Universitat Ramon Llull appears for the first time in the ranking among the top 500

The Universitat Ramon Llull (URL), of which La Salle-URL is one of its founding members, has been included for the first time in the World University Rankings of the Times Higher Education (THE) magazine, one of the most prestigious university rankings of the world. The URL appears in the 401-500 range of the best universities, which places it as the sixth best ranked university in all of Spain and the fourth within the Catalan university system. In the list of this 2021 the World University Rankings has included in its classification a total of 1600 universities from 99 different countries.

To perform the ranking, Times Higher Education measures the performance of university centers through 13 indicators divided into five areas, which are weighted unevenly for the final classification: teaching (30%), research (30%), citations (30%), international projection (7.5%) and knowledge transfer (2.5%). To assess these indicators, the THE World University Rankings evaluates bibliometric data from Elsevier, surveys of academics and data from universities. For this year's ranking, more than 22.000 academic surveys have been conducted, 108 million citations and more than 14 million publications have been analyzed.

The URL has obtained a global score of 41.5 points, highlighting the citations in scientific publications, where it has achieved a score of 82 out of 100. The Universitat Ramon Llull has also received very good scores in the international dimension, in indicators such as 'International collaborations' (79'4 points) and 'Percentage of foreign students' (70'1 points).
