Description
In the final master project the student performs the necessary study, design and implementation of a project in the area of a concrete field. This project is guided by one or more professionals that make several advises throughout its development. Finally, the student prepares a written memory with all the contents of the project besides lecturing in front of a public tribunal. It the tribunal which qualifies the work.

Previous Knowledge

The own specialty. It is needed to have passed all the subjects before, in order to proceed with its defense.

Objectives

During the project realization, students acquire knowledge and develop several skills listed below:

Capacity for analysis and synthesis.

Ability to organize and plan.

Oral and written communication in their own language.

Ability to apply knowledge to practice.

Research skills.

Ability to generate new ideas (creativity).

Contents

The contents of the final project are about a very specific topic. These can be an extension of one of the themes within the program or any application or case study on technology, research on new products, services or technologies, among others.

Methodology

A project coordinator meets and guides students in the development. He or she keeps track of all the phases along the project. Once this is completed, the student presents a written memory where the project design, its implementation and several outcomes are described. This is presented in front of a tribunal which decides the final rating.

There are therefore different methods to be applied:

1. Personalized Tutoring:

Weekly meetings with the responsible person. He or she clarifies doubts and helps solving potential problems.

2. Discussion forums:

The course is also supported through the virtual campus and therefore it is possible to enable discussion forums where questions and answers are published on the topic of work. It is an ideal means of communication, along with email, in the case of students who work from home.

3. Oral presentation:

At the end of the period and in front of a tribunal.

Evaluation

This is done by a tribunal. The aspects taken into account in its assessment include:

1 .- Organization and structure of the written memory.

2 .- Contents of the report.

3 .- Presentation of the work.

4 .- Theoretical Presentation.

- Theoretical knowledge on the theme of the project.

- Clarity of presentation.

- Ability in synthesis.

- Clarity in the oral presentation.

- Answering the questions appropriately.

5 .- Practice presentation.

- Show the environment in which it was developed.

- Show the results obtained with detail and scientific rigor.

- Quality of product demo or results of the project.

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation criteria are the four detailed below.

1 .- Performance of memory.

- Form and content (abstract, summary, index, body, results, conclusions and future lines, web & bibliography).

- Quality and correction (grammar).

2 .- Presentation and defense.

- Distribution of the oral presentation.

- Context on the subject under discussion.

- Conclusions and future lines.

- Practical or searched references.

- Quality of the oral presentation.

- Quality of the material used.

- Overall quality of the defense.

3. Theoretical aspects.

- Knowledge of the formalism used.

- Implementation details.

- Focus of the topic.
