THEORY. GENDER EQUITY

Description
Gender Equity Course Type: Elective Second semester ECTS Credits: 3 Professors: Montserrat Villaverde and Josefina Díaz Languages: Catalan, Spanish, and English Weaving new stories about space involves listening to silenced voices. In this course, we will analyze the environment from theoretical, discursive, and visual perspectives. These analyses form the concept of landscape, aiming to determine its social, political, and cultural dimensions. This course is part of the ALEC_byWomen educational and research project, which offers a critical rereading of the Mediterranean landscape from a feminist and contextual approach. The course integrates landscape, architecture, memory, and gender as fundamental axes for analyzing familiar territories, questioning dominant narratives and incorporating historically marginalized voices and perspectives. Through the study of four pioneering artists: Elli Sougioultzoglou-Seraidari, Nelly?s (Turkey, 1899 ? Greece, 1998), Manuelle Roche (France, 1931?2010), Mey Rahola (Spain, 1897 ? France, 1959), and Atteyat Al Abnoudy (Egypt, 1939?2018), the course seeks to generate conceptual and methodological tools to incorporate sensitive and critical approaches into the representation of the landscape, combining theory and practice through the development of a personal project.
