The School of Architecture launches three editorial collections to gather and transfer knowledge, learning processes, and academic production

VISIONS, Learning From and TUB are complementary series that document, interpret, and project the school’s architectural culture

With the aim of disseminating and transferring knowledge, learning processes, and academic production linked to its educational activity, the La Salle-URL Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSALS) is launching a new editorial line structured into three complementary collections that document, interpret, and project the school’s architectural culture.

The main novelty of the academic year is the launch of VISIONS, a series of publications dedicated to lectures, dialogues, and interviews with architects and guest professors with internationally recognised careers. VISIONS preserves and shares the intangible legacy of critical thinking, design practice, and the narratives that emerge from their visit to the campus. The first edition of this new collection is dedicated to Anne Lacaton, architect and honorary doctor of the Universitat Ramon Llull, at the request of ETSALS. The volume includes the full transcription of the lecture delivered during her nomination ceremony and an unpublished interview in which she expands on and deepens her perspective on dwelling, transformation, and contemporary architectural responsibility. The presentation event featured Josep Ferrando, Director of ETSALS, and professors Marina Povedano and Arnau Pascual, who are responsible for the school’s editorial project.

The School of Architecture is also launching two additional publication series:

  • Learning From: A compilation of the learning processes generated during the study trips of the international unit. The account of places is complemented by an exercise in observation and reading of the context, highlighting experience as a design methodology.
  • TUB (Triennal Units Book): A compilation of the work developed by second-cycle student units over a three-year period. The TUB bears witness to the school’s pedagogical evolution, applied research, and architectural production.

With these initiatives, ETSALS establishes a starting point in its editorial commitment and strengthens its strategy to consolidate itself as an agent of transformation with social impact. In doing so, the school promotes the generation and transfer of knowledge beyond the classroom, making it accessible to society, and reinforces its commitment to the mission of training professionals committed to society and the environment, capable of solving complex problems with creativity and efficiency, while taking sustainability and people’s well-being into account.
