Previous Knowledge

 Basic physics and mathematics
 Knowledge of architectural planning, construction, materials and equipment
 Knowledge of the building installations
 Basic computer skills.
 Basic free-hand drawing skills.

Objectives

For the student to know the objective of each of the concepts referred to in the description, the systems to use and the equipment necessary to complete their instalment according to the specific criteria of an architectural project.

Students who complete our course acquire the knowledge and develop the skills listed below:

1. Technical and planning knowledge for the practice of the profession.
2. To design and use the systems, components, processes or experiments to reach the established requirements and to analyse and interpret the results obtained.
3. The student has to understand the environmental impact of the building industry and the important of working in a professional environment and being ethically correct.
4. To use planning and calculating techniques and new for manual and computer work.
5. To understand all the contemporary aspects related to the profession and the need for a continued training.

H. Projects (with D 100% of the mark).
J. Participation in class (essential).

The students are continuously assessed by the teachers on their work and projects.

Evaluation Criteria

The student should show her/his ability to design buildings for public services (markets, libraries…) using the techniques learnt on the course as another common variable to be included in the global architectural project.

1. To have the technical and planning knowledge for the practice of the profession. The student shows this in her/his project. [D, H]

2. To design and use the systems, components, processes or experiments to reach the established requirements and to analyse and interpret the results obtained. The student shows this in an individual exam. [D, H]

3. The student has to understand the environmental impact of building industry and the important of working in a professional environment and being ethically correct. The student shows this in class participation. [J]

4. The student shows her/his ability use planning and calculating techniques and new for manual and computer work. The student shows this in an individual exam. [D, H]

5. To understand all the contemporary aspects related to the profession and the need for a continued training. The student shows this in class participation. [J]
