Topic 1: Start of the project, strategy and stakeholders

This topic works on how to start a project framed in the situation of the company by understanding the context of the company in order to align the decisions that will be taken within the framework of the project. At this point, we introduce the stakeholders: who they are, how we analyze them and, above all, how we manage them.

Topic 2: Project management based on the PMBok

The world of project management has changed a lot in recent years, especially because different methodologies have adapted to different sectors and different types of projects. In this topic we see the planning phase of a project as recommended by the PMI (Project Management Institute). We go through the basics of this phase: defining scope, time, costs, and risk analysis.

Topic 3: Project management based on Agile methodology

Introduction to the Agile methodology, how we treat the concepts of: scope, time, cost and risks, from this methodology.

Methodology

The teaching methodology used in the course combines:
• Seminars to explain the concepts
• Exercises to work on the concepts
• Projects, to be able to apply the knowledge to a real-life situation.
• Experiential activities

Evaluation

The evaluation system consists of a group part and an individual part:

• Group part:
- Project 1 (predictive methodology)
- 25% documentation
- 5% P2P score
- Project 2 (agile methodology)
- 25% documentation
- 5% P2P score
• Individual part:
- 30% Final exam

Conditions:
• According to the assessments of the peer review and the supervision of the teacher, students who do not follow the work rhythm will be warned and the group will be separated to finish the work. In order to pass the subject, it is necessary to pass the group part and the individual part separately with a minimum of 5.

If the student fails or has an NP in both parties (group and individual) or in some of the two, he or she will have to submit work to the extraordinary call for the part that he or she has failed. This call consists of two parts:

• If the student has failed the group work, he or she will need to develop an individual coursework during the extraordinary period => 60%
• If the student has failed the individual part, he or she will need to take an exam during the extraordinary period => 40%
