As part of the La Salle Festivities, the campus hosts the «Present your thesis in 4 minutes» competition, La Salle-URL’s event to select its representative for the contest organized by the Universitat Ramon Llull, which shares the same name and celebrates its 9th edition this year. The aim of this competition is to promote research dissemination and encourage the transfer of science to society.
This competition is aimed at PhD candidates from La Salle-URL who are in at least their second year of doctoral studies and who have not defended their thesis before the end of the application period. The objective is to challenge participants from any scientific discipline to explain their research to a general audience in a maximum of 4 minutes, using clear and easily understandable language. La Salle-URL offers two doctoral programmes: the PhD in Information Technologies and their Application to Management, Architecture and Geophysics, and the PhD in Philosophy: Humanism and Transcendence.
Among all participating PhD students, each doctoral programme will nominate one candidate for the competition that will later be held across the Universitat Ramon Llull, taking place on May 11 at the Rectorate and Central Services headquarters (Claravall, 1-3, 08022 Barcelona). The winner will represent the URL at the interuniversity competition "Present your thesis in 4 minutes", organized by the Fundació Catalana de la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRi) with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which will be held on June 11, 2026, at the auditorium of the Pilarín Bayés Library in Vic.
The event is open to the general public and will take place in the Sala de Gradus starting at 10.00 am.
