La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull presents its renewed brand identity, which expresses the evolution of its university project and strengthens its vision for the future. With more than 120 years of university history in Barcelona and rooted in a global educational mission spanning more than 300 years, La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull draws on the essence and values of La Salle through this evolution and connects them with a proposition that places innovation at the heart of everything and sees the university as a space to explore, question and lead the way in building a future with purpose.
Transdisciplinarity, future-proof learning and technological humanism are the three pillars that shape this new vision and define a university ecosystem focused on preparing people who are capable of anticipating change and helping to transform society. This evolution of the brand identity, which forms part of the implementation of the La Salle-URL 2025-29 Strategic Plan, stems from a desire to question boundaries and from the conviction that universities must educate people who are capable of facing and helping to solve the challenges of today and tomorrow.
From consolidation to a new leap in scale
The university, a founding member of Universitat Ramon Llull, closed the 2025-2026 academic year at a time of maturity and growth, with more than 9,000 students, 37% of whom are international, representing 120 nationalities. Following a period marked by the institution’s consolidation, internationalisation and the development of its academic, research and knowledge transfer ecosystem, La Salle-URL is entering a new cycle to take a leap in scale and strengthen its impact on society. The evolution of the brand identity accompanies this new cycle and shapes the way the campus expresses what it is today and everything it aspires to become.
“Our image is evolving, but our essence endures. The renewed identity also expresses the evolution of our educational model and the way we present ourselves to the world, while remaining true to our values and our founding mission, which form the foundation of this new stage. Faith, fraternity and a spirit of service unite all La Salle educational institutions around the world and enable us to articulate our value proposition as an international university committed to the territorial, economic and social development of our community,” explains Josep M. Santos, General Director of La Salle-URL and President of the International Association of La Salle Universities (IALU).
What if?, a new way of expressing La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull
La Salle-URL’s renewed brand identity incorporates a claim that captures the spirit of the entire proposition, What if?, a question that invites people to explore, question and create, to seek new possibilities and go beyond boundaries to make a positive impact. The new positioning champions the value of questions as a driving force for curiosity, critical thinking and innovation. “We want to challenge our students and our entire community to dream big. We believe that every person has unique potential, and our mission is to nurture it in any discipline and field,” explains Maria Pilar Torné, Director of Growth and Outreach.
In this way, the evolution of the brand identity takes shape through a new visual system that connects La Salle’s roots with its vision for the future and strengthens the brand’s adaptability across new environments and formats. The new logo builds on the La Salle name and incorporates three ‘L’s inspired by the broken chevrons of Saint John Baptist de La Salle’s family coat of arms, a symbol of unity that evokes the institution’s origins. At the same time, the two ‘A’s, aligned to form an upward arrow, convey movement and a forward-looking vision. “It is a logo that reinforces our role as catalysts and the importance of staying united, connecting us with who we are and accompanying us towards who we aspire to become,” explains Maria Pilar Torné.
The system also incorporates a new corporate blue, linked to Barcelona and La Salle, and a bespoke typeface, created specifically as part of this evolution and designed to provide consistency and adapt the brand to digital formats. Together, these new elements create a more contemporary, dynamic and flexible expression, consistent with an institution that breaks new ground, drives innovation and approaches the future with ambition. The renewed identity will be rolled out progressively throughout the 2026-2027 academic year across the institution’s different channels, spaces and materials.

The chevrons, a historic element of La Salle’s heraldry, are reinterpreted in the renewed visual identity.
A more human, connected and agentic university campus
The three pillars guiding this evolution are brought to life in La Salle-URL’s university model. The connection between disciplines is evident in everyday life on campus, where fields such as engineering, architecture, management, philosophy, the humanities, digital arts and animation come together through shared projects involving students, faculty and researchers. This perspective is amplified by an extensive global network that includes more than 200 partner universities.
At the same time, future-oriented learning takes shape through an experiential approach to education, with active methodologies, real-world projects and a distinctive educational model that promotes cooperative and transdisciplinary learning. This model connects students with challenges from the professional and business world through a network of more than a thousand companies, associations and social organisations, while fostering the skills needed to keep learning, adapt and make decisions in changing contexts.
Technological humanism completes this vision by placing technology and innovation at the service of people and the common good. La Salle-URL combines technological development with critical thinking, ethics and social commitment in both education and research, and is moving towards an agentic university model in which artificial intelligence enhances people’s capabilities without replacing their judgement, responsibility or the educational relationship. This vision takes shape in spaces such as the Interactive Arts & Science Laboratory (IASlab), a research laboratory spanning more than 3,000 m², and in the study of AI from a cross-disciplinary perspective.
Through these three pillars, La Salle-URL strengthens a holistic educational model that prepares students to face the challenges of the future with knowledge, sound judgement and the ability to drive transformation. “We are committed to continuous innovation and to a university education in which students not only adapt to change but also help shape it. Through technology, applied research, our own methodologies and critical thinking, we aim to educate professionals who are capable of approaching the future with sound judgement and contributing to the development of a fairer and more sustainable society,” concludes Rosa M. Alsina, Provost of La Salle-URL.
