The FUNITEC Board of Trustees, a non-profit foundation inspired by the Brothers of the Christian Schools, has held the first meeting of the 2025–26 academic year to review the current situation and future outlook of La Salle Campus Barcelona. During the meeting, the activity report for the 2024–25 academic year and the formulation of the previous year’s financial statements were presented and approved.
Key information regarding current campus affairs was also reviewed, and the status of the 2025–29 Strategic Plan, set to come into force shortly, was updated. In this context, the progress made by the campus in recent years was assessed very positively, and the conceptual development of the 2025–29 Strategic Plan was addressed, reviewing how the various projects that make up this new roadmap are being defined.
The General Manager of La Salle-URL, Josep M. Santos, presented the Board of Trustees with the forecasts for the 2025–26 Annual Plan, the main highlights at the start of the academic year, and the enrolment and scholarship report for the new academic year: the campus currently has more than 8,700 students and allocates €7.9 million to scholarships, a 12% increase compared to the previous year. He also outlined the economic forecasts, the planned timeline for the new Strategic Plan, and reviewed the institutional projects of the La Salle network and Universitat Ramon Llull.
The Board of Trustees expressed its satisfaction and encouraged the campus community to continue its work. The meeting also served to approve the appointment of the new trustee, Brother Josep Guiteras. Likewise, the campus Identity Charter was renewed, and the posthumous award of the FUNITEC Gold Medal to Brother Josep Martí, who recently passed away, was approved in recognition of his career and service.
The meeting was attended by the President and the Delegated President, Brothers Esteban de Vega and Josep Espuny respectively, as well as the other trustees: Brother Julio González (Vice president), Brother Javier López (Treasurer), Pere Vivancos (Secretary), Brother Esteban Miguélez and Brother Francisco José Chiva. Several members of the La Salle-URL Executive Team were also present.
