La Salle Campus Barcelona, founding member of the Universitat Ramon Llull, has been awarded the international Engaged University accreditation by ACEEU (Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities), an international body that assesses the social and entrepreneurial impact of higher education institutions. This accreditation certifies the campus’ commitment to local and global development through active, transformative collaboration with other universities, industry, public institutions, the environment and civil society.
This milestone follows the Entrepreneurial University accreditation granted to La Salle-URL in the previous academic year, making it the first university in Catalonia and the second in Spain to receive both ACEEU accreditations: Entrepreneurial and Engaged.
Through this international recognition, La Salle-URL reaffirms its Lasallian mission of contributing to territorial, economic and social development. This commitment is exemplified by initiatives such as the Social Board Council (SBC), the Social Council of Entities of the campus, launched this academic year to foster dialogue and collaboration between the university and social entities in order to address social challenges and promote sustainable development.
The campus also leads various social impact initiatives, including student volunteering programmes; projects aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the core subject Thought and Creativity; strategic local and international partnerships; and applied research and knowledge transfer projects with a transformative purpose.
Josep M. Santos, General Director of La Salle-URL, states: “Being recognised as an Engaged University reaffirms our commitment to contributing to a fairer and more inclusive society. At La Salle-URL, we work to create real impact across both local and global contexts through collaboration, innovation and shared responsibility. Together with the Entrepreneurial University accreditation, this second recognition by ACEEU strengthens our mission to educate professionals who lead with talent, conscience and purpose”.
The award ceremony took place at the ACEEU Forum 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic, and was attended by Rosa Ma. Alsina, Director of Research and Innovation at La Salle-URL, and Devi Chithran, Project Manager at Innova Institute. This recognition strengthens La Salle-URL’s commitment to being a driver of transformation and to helping build a better future, guided by the values that define the institution: proximity, responsibility, dialogue, service and hope.
