DIGITAL. NARRATIVES TROUGHT IMAGE

Description
The image as a generator of architectural discourse. This course explores the potential of the image?both static and in motion?as a tool for constructing architectural narratives. It aims to investigate how the image can suggest ideas and concepts in the early stages of the design process, becoming an active medium for architectural thought and creation. The course will analyze various forms of visual representation?such as photography, cinema, drawing, and painting?within the context of contemporary history, and will study how these media have influenced and connected with architectural thinking over time. The main objective of the course is to develop the ability to think through images, fostering the construction of a coherent and personal architectural imagination. The course will integrate the most suitable digital techniques for building architectural narratives. Students will use digital tools for 3D modeling and rendering, image generation through AI, as well as photo and video editing. The final outcome will take the form of a moving image: video will become the medium through which to articulate an immersive architectural narrative capable of conveying space, atmosphere, and design intent.
