The research line in Cloud and Edge Computing strives to tackle challenges associated with devising algorithms for the distribution and orchestration of data-driven services. These algorithms aim to optimize processes related to data computation and storage across diverse and widespread architectures, including fog, edge, and cloud environments.
The goal is to contribute to scientific advancements in designing, abstracting, and characterizing these architectures. This involves advancements in access, interoperability, conceptualization, and description of the architectures, nodes, relationships, and interactions. This will be achieved by adhering to state-of-the-art standards and recommendations, such as W3C recommendations (e.g., Web of Things Architecture, Resource Description Framework), and dynamic system analysis approaches.
