La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull is entering a new stage from a position of maturity, growth and ambition. With more than 120 years of university history in Barcelona and rooted in an educational mission spanning more than three centuries, we want to continue evolving to respond to the challenges of our time and help build the future.
In recent years, we have consolidated our university project, strengthened our international dimension and expanded our academic, research, innovation, knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship ecosystem. We have done so while preserving what defines us: an understanding of education that places people at the centre and is grounded in the fundamental values of faith, fraternity and a spirit of service.
Today, we want to take a new leap in scale. We want to be a university that is increasingly connected to the major cultural, scientific, technological and entrepreneurial flows of Barcelona and the world; a university capable of generating knowledge and transferring it to society; and a university that contributes to the economic, social and territorial development of its community. We are a technological university and, at the same time, a profoundly human one.
This vision takes shape in the way we teach, research and innovate. Engineering, architecture, management, philosophy, the humanities, digital arts and animation coexist on the same campus, allowing us to connect disciplines and perspectives to address increasingly complex challenges. We see technology as a tool at the service of people and believe that critical thinking, ethics and responsibility must accompany every process of transformation.
We are also an institution deeply open to the world. Our community brings together students, educators and researchers from numerous nationalities and connects with universities, companies and institutions around the world. At the same time, we want to remain deeply rooted in Barcelona and our local community, because being international also means being able to make an impact wherever we are present.
But everything we do has one central protagonist: the student. Our commitment is to provide an education that enables every person to develop their judgement, creativity and ability to face a future of constant transformation. We do not want to educate professionals who simply adapt to change, but people who are capable of helping to drive it and guide it towards the common good.
This ambition also invites us to keep asking questions. To question what is established, explore new possibilities and dare to imagine what does not yet exist. Because a university should be a place where knowledge enables us not only to understand the world, but also to transform it.
