Llum BCN returns with two facilities with the La Salle-URL seal

Architecture students Martina Blázquez and Diego Lahoz participate with the project 'Between two times'

The Poblenou neighborhood of Barcelona will illuminate its streets and buildings this weekend, between November 5 and 7, at the Llum BCN 2021, one of the great cultural and artistic events of the city, which returns after being postponed at the beginning of the year. As usual, La Salle-URL will participate in the event; this year, from both aspects of the Llum BCN: as a sample of the interventions projected by students from the main universities of Catalonia and as an exhibition of works and installations created by some of the most relevant visual artists of the moment.

The installation Between two times: Because time advances, but does not forget, made by Martina Blázquez and Diego Lahoz, both students of the School of Building Engineering La Salle-URL (ETSALS), is the one that will represent this year the campus. It will do so in the Parc del Center del Poblenou, which is where all the creations of the dozen Catalan faculties and universities that participate in the Llum BCN 2021 will be located. The proposal was the winner of the internal competition of the School of Architecture of La Salle-URL and wants to represent, through the light duality, two times: the past and the present.

Ahead of the next edition of the festival, which will recover its usual date of celebration in February 2022, La Salle-URL will present for the first time an installation created jointly by students of Architecture, Engineering and Digital Arts. Currently, within the framework of the LAB Unit subject, the students are beginning to work on their proposals, from which the one chosen will come out to be able to participate in the Llum BCN 2022.

Lunar Oscillations, Xavi Bové's installation

The new director of the Degree in Digital Arts at La Salle-URL, Xavi Bové, will be one of the internationally renowned artists who will participate in the Llum BCN 2021. His installation, which is entitled Lunar Oscillations, combines light and sound and is an intervention about the perception of a constantly changing space through the creation of a universe of dynamic stars and moons. It can be seen at Utopia 126 (Calle de Cristóbal de Moura, 126, Barcelona). Due to the circumstances, the organizers of Llum BCN recommend making a prior reservation to be able to visit most of the spaces and facilities, to improve the quality of the experience and avoid crowds.
