La Salle Campus Barcelona, founding member of Universitat Ramon Llull, is taking part in the 2025 City and Science Biennial, one of the leading scientific culture events, by opening the doors of the Interactive Arts & Science Laboratory (IASlab), the campus laboratory that is a pioneering space in Europe for transdisciplinary research and artistic creation.

The visit, which forms part of the +Biennial programme and requires prior registration, will bring the campus’s research closer to society by exploring knowledge creation at the intersection of science and art. During the tour, researchers will present the laboratories that make up the full creation chain: the immersive room, equipped with 360º projection, spatial audio and Lidar sensors; the acoustic engineering laboratories, featuring an anechoic chamber and a reverberation room; the virtual production stage; the studio equipped with Dolby Atmos; and the artistic experimentation spaces, where visitors will be able to see some of the works created by students of the Degree in Digital Arts and the Master of Science in Digital Arts and Creative Technologies.

The activity will take place on Thursday, 20 November, from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm, at the Sant Joan Baptista de La Salle building, where IASlab is located. It is an excellent opportunity to get to know the university and understand the synergies and facilities that make possible the artistic practice and scientific research that will shape the audiovisual, immersive and interactive environments of the future. In this sense, the activity stems from the strong link and collaboration between La Salle-URL and Barcelona’s scientific and cultural ecosystem, and from the campus’s commitment to generating social impact through applied research and knowledge transfer.

The City and Science Biennial, now in its fourth edition and held simultaneously from 18 to 23 November in Barcelona and Madrid, is titled “Quantum: The Indivisible Mechanisms of the World”. It invites reflection, from a multidisciplinary perspective, on how quantum theory has transformed the world at all levels. The Biennial offers a programme of free activities open to the general public, featuring leading national and international scientists. Across six days, the City and Science Biennial encourages us to reflect on the challenges of our time and on how science can address present and future crises.
