La Salle-URL and Oracle sign an agreement to promote talent in Information Technology training

Continuing the strategy of promoting talent in Information Technology training, Oracle Spain and La Salle Campus Barcelona, ​​a founding member of the Ramon Llull University, have signed a framework agreement, which comes into force this November 2021 and will be applied to about 1,200 undergraduate and master's students of the institution, and whose main objective is to promote education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers, bringing to the labor market the professionals with the greatest demand in the next years. The signing of the agreement took place today, November 24, at the La Salle-URL campus in Barcelona. It has been signed by Albert Triola, CEO of Oracle Spain, and by Josep M. Santos, General Director of La Salle-URL.

Given the growing need for Information Technology professionals in the market, this agreement aims to initiate collaboration between both organizations to develop talent in the ICT sector, with the aim of increasing knowledge of Oracle technologies among the La Salle-URL students and bring graduate and postgraduate professionals with official Oracle certification to the labor market.

With this agreement, Oracle makes available to La Salle-URL access to educational material and courses for all students of the university center, as well as official Oracle courses and certifications for graduates in Engineering and inclusion of Oracle Certification in the Postgraduates of La Salle-URL. In addition, Oracle will make professionals available for La Salle Campus Barcelona to adopt such training, as well as virtual laboratories and company professionals who will participate in the training of the academic institution.

On the other hand, the General Director of La Salle-URL, Josep M. Santos, highlighted the importance of the agreement with the technology company: “The relationship with the professional world and with top-level companies such as Oracle is one of the great assets of our campus and of our studies." At the same time, he assured that "the collaboration with Oracle will enrich the profile of our engineering students, bringing cutting-edge technology to the classroom and providing highly valued training in the professional market." Josep M. Santos has confirmed that the knowledge related to databases, architectures and applications in the cloud and tools to help decision-making with Oracle technology “will provide added value to the programs and students at La Salle- URL.”
