What has become of happiness?

Universitat Ramon Llull, of which La Salle Campus Barcelona is a founding member, is celebrating the III Mental Health Day at the University, which will take place in the Auditori (C/ Sant Joan de la Salle, 42) on campus on next October 10 from 10 am. This day, which coincides with World Mental Health Day, will be dedicated to talking about the pursuit of happiness, which has become a central focus of individual aspirations and social goals. Despite advances in technology, health and living standards, there seems to be a paradoxical decline in the levels of happiness and well-being in the population. In this event organized by the Mental Health Working Group of Universitat Ramon Llull, you are invited to think about how we can understand this phenomenon.

A starting point to understand it can be this fact: in Denmark, 74% of the population answers affirmatively when asked if they think they can trust others; in Spain this percentage drops to 41%. It turns out that these percentages agree perfectly with the values that both countries report in terms of life satisfaction, according to the United Nations Happiness Report.

In order to address this much-needed issue, students will be the main focus of the day, so the main proposal of the program has been devised by the Universitat Ramon Llull Student Council.
